ABOUT US

At Legacy Academy of Dance, we believe dance is more than movement—it is education, discipline, teamwork, and a lifelong foundation for confidence and growth. We are proud to be a family-owned studio, built on a passion for teaching, mentoring, and creating a supportive community for dancers and their families. Legacy Academy was founded by Katee Mink, whose lifelong commitment to dance, education, and youth development shaped the vision for the studio.
Katee brings extensive experience in education, performance and leadership. She was a member of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, performing at the professional level for 7 years, serving as team captain and Pro Bowl Cheerleader. She had the opportunity to dance at Super Bowl XXXIII, the American Bowl in Australia, the Chinese New Year Parade in Hong Kong and the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. She later served as Director of the Junior Broncos Cheerleaders program. Katee has a degree in elementary education, having taught grades K-4 for 12 years. Earlier in her career, she was also crowned Miss Colorado and danced on the Miss America stage in 2004. Katee has been the head coach of the Ralston Valley Dance Team for 5 years and has coached the team to 2 State Championships in Game Day Dance and
2-time National Finalists in both Game Day and Pom.
Legacy Academy is also shaped by the next generation, Katee’s daughter, Tenley Mink. Tenley is currently a member of the Arizona Pomline, dancing at a Division 1 University. She grew up in the competitive dance studio world in Colorado and went on to be a Ralston Valley Pom for 4 years and team captain for 2. She has represented her school among top dancers in Colorado earning First Team All State and helping lead her team to become State Champions and National Finalists. She is currently studying Communications at the University of Arizona and has experience in teaching youth and master classes.

We share a deep-rooted passion for children, education, and dance that has shaped our family and our vision for this studio. Together, we are committed to creating a place where dancers of all ages can discover a love for dance early, build strong technique and confidence, and grow into capable, resilient individuals through the discipline and relationships formed within our Legacy community. We provide guidance and insight into next-level opportunities, helping students understand what it takes to pursue dance beyond the studio. Most importantly, we are passionate about inspiring and supporting the next generation of dancers in our community to reach their full potential—wherever their dance journey may lead.
As a family-run studio, relationships matter deeply to us. We strive to create an environment where dancers feel encouraged, challenged, and proud to belong—where families feel supported, and where every dancer is part of something meaningful—a legacy.
with love,
Katee & Tenley
